Dogs who are Reactive on Leash

For the purpose of this presentation, we are defining “reactive on leash” as dogs who growl, bark, pull, and/or lunge on leash in the presence of other dogs, people, or other outside distractions like fast moving things, wildlife, or novel things appearing in the environment.

About the presenters

Valerie Barry is a certified professional dog trainer with businesses in North Vancouver and Fernie, BC. She specializes in all levels of behaviour modification and behaviour prevention - helping families raise friendly puppies and adolescent dogs. Valerie has been working with families and their dogs for over 30 years.

Valerie’s credentials: Certified Training Partner with Karen Pryor (KPA-CTP), Certified Family Dog Mediator (CFDM), Fear Free Certified Trainer (Elite Status), Certified Predation Substitute Training Instructor (PST-CI)

Katie Guille is a certified professional dog trainer with a business in Fernie, BC. She specializes in Separation Anxiety as well as levels of behaviour modification.

Katie’s credentials: Certified Separation Anxiety Trainer (CSAT), Certified Professional Dog Trainer - Knowledge and Skills Assessed (CPDT-KSA).

Both Valerie and Katie are accredited by the BC SPCA AnimalKind Training Program.
